San Juan de los Reyes junto con la calle Zenete, es una de las mas largas del Albaicin. Estrecha como la que mas. Se cree que en tiempo de los romanos formaba parte de la calzada romana que se dirigía a Guadix. Fue en tiempo de los musulmanes cuando empezó a tomar el carisma actual. Empezó llamándose San Juan de la Victoria, y era mucho más larga . Se extendía por la calle de la Cárcel y acababa en la Plaza de la Trinidad.
